Dr. Patricia Burkett is a Clinical Psychologist with special training and expertise in the area of Medical Psychology – applying psychological techniques to aid treatment of medical/health problems. Her work focuses on the impact of cancer on the emotional function of the patient and their family. Her psychological interventions seek to improve the patient’s quality of life and enhance medical treatment outcomes. Dr. Burkett coordinates and provides psychosocial oncology treatment at Gulfcoast Oncology Associates and has over twenty years experience in Medical Psychology at major teaching hospitals in Birmingham, Alabama and Tampa, Florida.
