Brad Prechtl, Chief Executive Officer Brad Prechtl – Chief Executive Officer

Brad Prechtl
is the Chief Executive Officer with Florida Cancer Specialists. In this role, Brad is responsible for carrying out the overall strategic mission and vision for the organization. He brings a wealth of health care leadership experience to this position. After graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from West Virginia University, he obtained his license as a Certified Public Accountant and earned his M.B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh and went on to spend three years as an auditor and consultant at Big 8 firms Arthur Andersen and Coopers and Lybrand. The next 20 years of physician practice management included seven years at PhyCor, including stints at CFO and CEO of several PhyCor multi-specialty physician practices, and seven years at US Oncology, the nation’s largest medical and radiation oncology practice management company devoted to cancer treatment and research, where he served as Executive Director of Practice Operations for Texas Oncology with over 300 medical and radiation oncologists. He then served as President of Crozer Keystone Health Network, a 300 plus multi-specialty group practice, and COO for Physician Oncology Services, one of the most successful prostate cancer treatment networks in Georgia and Indiana. Brad is excited to be a part of the strategic expansion of Florida Cancer Specialists and is committed to the company’s mission of providing personalized and caring hematology/oncology services to our patients using state of the art technology. Brad currently serves on the Board of Directors at the Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI) in Tampa where FCS is the presenting sponsor of "The Amazing You: Cancer Exhibit." Brad loves being in Florida, is married to Terri and is the proud father of four children ages 13 to 20. His interests include sports of all kinds, travel, and being a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Richard 'Rick' A. Green – Vice President, Operations Richard “Rick” A. Green – Vice President, Operations

Originally from New Jersey, Rick Green comes to Florida Cancer Specialists from the University of South Florida’s Physicians Group, where he served as Executive Director since 2006. As Vice President of Operations, Rick is responsible for formulating and executing the overall operational strategy to maximize the performance of the company. Providing oversight to the entire operations of the company including regional directors, regional administrators, office managers and others. He will establish appropriate metrics and structure to ensure the effective implementation occurs to support both long and short-term objectives. He is committed to putting patients first and providing opportunities for staff development and employee engagement, as Florida Cancer Specialists continues to grow.

Rick’s career in healthcare systems management began almost 20 years ago and includes diverse leadership experiences with a variety of organizations, both public and private. After receiving his MBA from Bentley College in Waltham, MA, Rick first went to work for HealthNet Medical Group, where held several positions from 1992 to 1996. He then was hired as Director of Practice Management for JFK Health Systems and later became a Senior Consultant for KPMG in the Healthcare Strategy Practice out of Princeton, NJ. In 2001, Rick was promoted to Senior Executive Director of Operations and was an integral part of the management team that completed a successful merger with Drexel University’s School of Medicine.

Rick is married and is the father of two children. He and his wife Tracy enjoy spending time with their children, which usually means time at the ball fields or ice rinks.

Todd Schonherz – Chief Information Officer Todd Schonherz – Chief Information Officer

Todd Schonherz
comes to Florida Cancer Specialists from U.S. Oncology, the nation’s largest medical and radiation oncology practice management company devoted to cancer treatment and research, where he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer and was responsible for all day to day operational aspects of information technology and strategic direction for the Information Technology needs of the organization. During his tenure at US Oncology, he also held positions as the Director of Enterprise Applications and Vice President, Information Systems. Todd has spent over 20 years consulting and providing management in the healthcare information technology industry, holding management positions with Datamedic Corporation (acquired by VitalWorks and later Amicas Corporation (Nasdaq: AMCS)), Multum Corporation (acquired by Cerner Corporation (Nasdaq: CERN), and MedE America (acquired by WebMD and later HLTH Corporation (Nasdaq: HLTH)). Todd received a Bachelors of Science degree in Health Policy and Administration from The Pennsylvania State University. Todd is active in numerous professional societies and committees and during his career has been named to the Information Week 500; he has also been awarded the ComputerWorld/IDG Laureate Award recognizing individuals and organizations who use information technology to benefit society. Todd enjoys spending time with his family and friends, travelling and keeping active through tennis, golf, and biking.

Denice Veatch – Vice President of Finance Denice Veatch – Vice President of Finance

As Vice President of Finance, Denice Veatch is responsible for all aspects of the financial and accounting operations of FCS. After graduating from Cameron University with a Bachelor’s degree in Management and Finance, Denice pursued graduate studies and received her MBA from Oklahoma City University. Prior to joining Florida Cancer Specialists in 2008, Denice worked with several large multi-specialty practice groups and hospital organizations in both operational and financial roles. On the personal side, Denice enjoys spending time with her family and friends, gardening, and going to the beach.


Tim Boozan – Vice President of Informatics and Marketing Tim Boozan – Vice President of Informatics and Marketing

Tim Boozan
has been with FCS since 2008, when he became the Director of Operations for Region 2. He served in that capacity until November of 2010 when he was named Director of Information Technology and Marketing, and assumed all marketing functions for the company, as well as all aspects of Information Technology, including our fully-integrated Electronic Medical Records system, system architecture, and customer support. Mr. Boozan was also given the privilege of launching the Florida Cancer Specialist Foundation, a not-for-profit organization established in January 2011 by the physicians of Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute.

In June of 2011, Mr. Boozan was promoted to the position of Vice President of Informatics and Marketing for Florida Cancer Specialists. In addition to the companies marketing functions, he will be responsible for the establishment of a comprehensive informatics program. This new program will allow FCS to develop opportunities in the analysis, aggregation and packaging of the company’s vast data stores. Concurrently, Mr. Boozan will continue the development of the Florida Cancer Specialists Foundation as the not-for-profit’s Executive Director.

Tim has a diverse background that combines his nursing skills with significant business experience. Before joining Florida Cancer Specialists, Tim founded the medical management department of Florida’s largest third-party administrator and served as its director for 11 years. Prior to that, he worked as a pediatric head injury nurse in a rehabilitation hospital. Tim graduated from Truman State University with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration and also attended the State College of Florida, where he received his Associate’s Degree in Nursing Science. Tim enjoys volunteering with youth organizations and works with numerous non-profit organizations.

Sharon Dill, Vice President of Human Resources Sharon Dill, Vice President of Human Resources

Originally from Cape Cod, MA, Sharon Dill is a seasoned Human Resources professional with a diverse background, that includes positions with Fortune 500 companies Johnson & Johnson and Bausch & Lomb. She received her Bachelor of Science in Management from Lesley University in Cambridge, MA and her MBA from Florida Gulf Coast University. Sharon first entered the healthcare industry in 1995, when she served as Director of Human Resources for the NCH Healthcare System in Naples, FL. Following her tenure at NCH, she worked in the corporate sector for several years, including Corporate Director of Human Resources with Robb & Stucky, LLLP. She returned to healthcare in 2006 as Vice President of Human Resources with Eye Centers of Florida and was later promoted to Chief Operating Officer.

Sharon has a strong background in both operations and HR, and an outstanding track record in restructuring employee benefits, managing employee relations, streamlining and automating processes, and strengthening employee satisfaction. She volunteers her time teaching classes for human resource professionals who are preparing for the Human Resources Certification Institute exams, speaking to college students entering the job market, and supporting local animal rescues. She also enjoys bicycling and rollerblading.
