Christina Sievert – Director of Clinic Financial Services Christina Sievert – Director of Clinic Financial Services

Christina Sievert
is the Director of Clinic Financial Services for Florida Cancer Specialists. In this role, Christina oversees all functions of the financial counselors who are located in the FCS clinics. She is also responsible for the intake registration, utilization management, patient resolution, self-pay collections, and financial aid. Christina has been a member of the Florida Cancer Specialists family since October 2003 and has held numerous positions within the organization. Prior to joining Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute, she was the Director of Patient Business Services for Cape Coral Eye Center. Christina has worked in the healthcare industry for more than 25 years and continues to be an active member of FLASCO (Florida Society of Clinical Oncology), HFMA (Healthcare Financial Management Association), OMF (Oncology Managers of Florida) and SATRO (Southern Association of Therapeutic Radiation Oncology). Christina is dedicated to ensuring that each and every patient has a positive experience at Florida Cancer Specialists.

Sarah Cevallos – Director of Revenue Cycle Sarah Cevallos – Director of Revenue Cycle

Sarah Cevallos
is the Director of Revenue Cycle for Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute. Sarah is responsible for providing leadership and strategic vision to the business office functions which include insurance billing, collections, and payment posting. She joined FCS in 2008 and has served in several finance-related roles within the company. Sarah realizes the FCS Mission by achieving value through accurate billing and timely collections, and the foundation of her revenue cycle strategy is based on creating a positive patient experience. Sarah holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Professional Management from Nova Southeastern University, and she is currently pursuing an MBA degree from Western Governor’s University with a concentration in Healthcare Management.

Katie Goodman – Director of Research Katie Goodman – Director of Research

Katie Goodman
is the Director of Clinical Research for Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute. In this role, she oversees the operations of the research program, including managing a team of highly qualified research nurses and staff. Through ongoing collaboration with pharmaceutical sponsors and various other research organizations, Katie is dedicated to bringing cutting edge clinical trials to the patients of Florida Cancer Specialists. Katie holds a Bachelors of Nursing degree from Florida State University and is CCRP certified through the Society of Clinical Research Associates. She has over 20 years experience in the healthcare industry. Prior to joining FCS in 2001, Katie worked as a critical care nurse in cardiothoracic surgery, general medical and pulmonary transplant services at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, GA. Katie is a native Floridian and enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Sue Kearney – Director of Compliance and Ancillary Services Sue Kearney – Director of Compliance and Ancillary Services

Sue Kearney
is the Corporate Compliance Officer/Director of Ancillary Operations with Florida Cancer Specialists. In this role, Sue manages a team that is responsible for assuring adherence by all employees and physicians to the FCS Compliance Plan and FCS practice policies. Her responsibilities include legal issues, HIPAA, coding, auditing and transcription. She is also responsible for the central laboratory and all of the laboratories located within our clinics. Sue earned her B.S. from the University of Vermont. Before joining Florida Cancer Specialists in 1999, she worked for 16 years in Pediatric Oncology at Fletcher Allen Health Care/University of Vermont as a Certified Clinical Research Associate, where she also performed coding, auditing and billing. She is currently a member of HCCA (Health Care Compliance Association). Sue enjoys spending time with her family and friends, watching sports, reading and gardening.

Lois Poel – Senior Regional Director Lois Poel – Senior Regional Director

Lois Poel
was born and raised in West Michigan, where she received her L.P.N. degree. She worked as a LPN and office manager for a General Surgeon in Michigan for 17 years, and then became a practice manager for a large multi-specialty group in Grand Haven, Michigan. The Michigan Medical Society recognized Lois’ achievements in the state’s Medical Business Professional Program. Lois moved to Florida in 2006 and joined Florida Cancer Specialists in 2007 as the manager of Naples West, Napa Ridge and recently, Naples Goodlette. Lois has served in a strategic position on the FCS Merger Team for the acquisition of most of the new office locations over the past three years. Lois has been involved in the Relay for Life, both in Michigan and in Naples, and when she is not working, she enjoys photography, going to the beach, and spending vacations with her family in Michigan.

Jeffrey Rubin – Senior Regional Director Jeffrey Rubin – Senior Regional Director

Jeffrey Rubin
began his career in the pharmaceutical field and worked as a Sales Manager and Certified Pharmacy Technician at Tarpon Plaza Drugs in Tarpon Springs, FL for seven years. Jeff earned his Pharmacy Technician Certification in 1999 and then worked as a Certified Pharmacy Technician at Morton Plant Mease Hospital until 2003. He graduated from the University of South Florida in 2004 with a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science. Jeff was hired as the Pharmacy Manager for Oncology Physicians in 2003 and later became an HR Manager for the company supervising radiology and radiation personnel. In 2008, he was promoted to Senior Office Manager at Florida Cancer Specialists, and, in this position, supervised and coordinated all personnel activities in clerical, nursing, laboratory, and pharmacy, and was responsible for all on-site operations. Jeff was named Director of Operations for Region 3 in 2010. He is an avid scuba diver and enjoys spending time with his family.

Inga Gonzalez – Regional Director for Central Florida – Region 6 Inga Gonzalez – Regional Director for Central Florida – Region 6

Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Inga Gonzalez entered the medical field in 1998 when she founded a medical billing and collections firm in her hometown. Inga moved to Orlando, FL in 2005 to become the Clinic Manager for a pain management clinic; and in 2006, she accepted a position as Manager of Patient Services for the Florida Heart Group, where she developed physician protocols and optimized patient flow for 16 physicians and two nurse practitioners. In early 2009, Inga became Office Manager for Florida Hematology & Oncology Specialists and Lake County Oncology & Hematology. On August 1, 2011, those practices merged with Florida Cancer Specialists and Inga was named Director of Operations for Region 6 in Central Florida. Inga is fluent in Russian, having learned the language as part of her heritage. Inga enjoys spending quality time with her family and traveling.

Jeff Esham
is originally from Ashland, KY, but after attending the University of Miami and receiving his BS and MBA from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Jeff says that he fell in love with the Florida lifestyle. He is a dynamic healthcare executive with a proven track record in oncology care, as well as administrative leadership. Most recently, Jeff served for six years as the Administrative Director of Memorial Cancer Institute in Hollywood, FL, which is part of the 5th largest public healthcare system in the United States. Jeff chose radiation oncology as a career because he enjoys building relationships with patients and their families, and finds great satisfaction in knowing that he is part of a team that makes a difference in peoples' lives. Jeff and his wife Katie, who is a perinatal ultrasonographer, have two children, ages 13 and 8.

Amy Klaas, MBA, MHA, FACMPE  – Director of Contracting Amy Klaas, MBA, MHA, FACMPE – Director of Contracting

Amy Klaas
received both an MBA and MHA from the University of Pittsburgh and is a Fellow in the American College of Medical Practice Executives. Amy has 20 years management experience in healthcare with an extensive background in medical group operations and payer contracting. She started her career as Administrator of the Cardiac Program at Millard Fillmore Hospitals in Buffalo, NY in 1992. Since then, Amy has expanded her experience in Medical Group management with several large multispecialty groups. Amy was the Director of Operations and Managed Care for 90+ physician mutispecialty group from 1996 - 2009 where she led the practice site operations as well as the payer contracting and credentialing of the group. Most recently, Amy served as President of Medical Group Consulting, Inc. Amy says she is motivated by the opportunity to work with FCS as it expands its services and footprint across the state. When she is not working, her favorite activity is spending time with her husband and her 2 year old daughter.

Katherine (Kit) Meador – Director of OncoEMR Support Services Katherine (Kit) Meador – Director of OncoEMR Support Services

Katherine (Kit) Meador
has extensive experience in a variety of nursing positions ranging from a floor nurse and charge nurse in several hospitals in Virginia and West Virginia, to a home health nurse, to a clinical nursing instructor for Germanna Community College in Spotsylvania, Virginia. From 1998 to 2001, she also served at Mary Washington Hospice in Fredericksburg, Virginia as Admissions Coordinator. Kit moved to Florida in 2001 and held positions with several oncology practices until 2008, when she joined Florida Cancer Specialists as RN Director of Operations. Kit received her BSN in 2009 from the University of Phoenix, and in May 2009, she was asked to join the Clinical Support team for Oncology Electronic Medical Records and provide training and support to all physicians and clinical staff for the effective use of the electronic medical records system. Kit says that Oncology is her passion, “The people that we serve give me such a sense of pride; every day I am blessed to encounter people who define the meaning of courage and strength.” When she is not working, Kit enjoys spending time with her family, which includes “three great kids”, ages 22, 19, and 17.

Monique Bachman - Director of Financial Planning & Analysis Monique Bachman - Director of Financial Planning & Analysis

Originally from Cape Cod, MA, Monique Bachman received her BS in Accounting from Niagara University in Niagara, NY and accepted an associate auditor position with international public accounting firm BDO Seidman, LLP in Buffalo, NY. After moving to Florida, she spent 2 additional years in a Big 6 public accounting firm as a senior auditor with Arthur Andersen in Tampa, earning her license as a Certified Public Accountant. Monique transitioned into the medical field in 2007 when she became Controller at the billing and practice management firm Advanced Medical Services, LLC in Palm Harbor, FL. Most recently, she served as Practice Controller with US Oncology, where she directed financial management functions for three oncology practices consisting of 13 clinical sites and 26 medical and radiation oncology physicians. Monique likes spending time at the beach or by the pool with her husband Kris and their two children; she also enjoys reading and cooking.
